Mama Fox and Her Hen Friend
Mom and dad fox took their children on a walk
They kicked around leaves and had a great talk
I have heard that some fox families eat chicken, one little one said.
His parents looked sheepish, his mother’s face turned all red.
My best friend was a hen, she told her little two.
I did everything to save her. I did the best I could do.
But someone put her on a table with an apple in her mouth
Someone turned the conversation quickly, before it went far south.
