Malnutrition and Dehydration

Put down that coke
Write a check to help the hungry
Put down that coke
Death takes lives this is not a joke
Mother gives all, their agony
Grief doesn't wash, apathy
Put down that coke!

Contest: Dr. Mehta Ram, Rondolet

So many people don't have food to eat nor water to drink; be thankful for what you do have....

Doris, you have given some good advice here. Eleven have died in Okla from the heat this year with many more possibles. Good poem, and thanks for your comments on my latest. Re writing a book, just set yourself a goal and pound away at the keyboard. Let ideas work in your head between typing times. I have edited a couple of friends' books, but that's not my cup of tea. I self-edited one of my books and found to my horror some things that I overlooked.

Great that you took up this topic Doris! We're having every day these TV-pictures from the Sudan and the people starving, children dying. It's simply terrible!

Very touching, Doris. Some folks eat themselves to obesity while others starve. Lead the charge against hunger and I'll be marching right beside you. Excellent entry for Dr. Ram's contest! Wishing you success. Love, Carolyn

Hi Doris, thank you for you kind comments. "A slumdog" is a reference used by the elitists of society to describe "Children of the slums". Children of a lesser fortune, whom often resort to thievery to feed themselves and their families. For every consequence in the 1st world there is a triple consequence in the 3rd world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKXk8IBMSeo&feature=related
