Make Hays While the Sun Shines
Time as the wind blows and off it goes
Dear friend learn to tap from what it holds
Dont desire the shadows of the days unkown
For you cannot tell what it holds.
Today is the golden credit nature can lend
Trade and profit therein to sustain you in famine
Dont expect the stream of others to flow to your end
Take delight in hardwork and burn with power from within.
From yestreday's sunlight do not borrow
For it is as good as clay
Nor depend on the rays of tommorow
For its sky may turn to grey.
The seasons are tossed by the hand of nature
The dry season: the time to plough, plant and prune
The wet side of our coin; the fruits are ripe and mature
Both sides are blessed both soon they zoom
Dear friend cling to your golden hours
For therein your golden crown lies
Do not live in procastinations tower
Make hays while the sun shines
