Maidens of March

Green maidens from the church of March Ride gentle over northern gusts Align a misty rainbow arch Their mossy robes of clouds adjust In frost tipped moonbeam's yellow glow To pollinate with pixie dust Where thawing rivers stir and flow As lilac icicles are made And shamrocks grow through thinning snow Where icy glories drifting, fade The sculptured swords of silver kings Melting in shades of pine and jade Where bark circles in turquoise rings Caught in between winter and spring. 3/6/21

Michelle, I really enjoyed reading your transition poem from winter's icy glories fading and spring's shamrocks growing below the thinning snow. This is a really cool form, I shall have to try writing in Terza Rima more often. Love the line "In frost tipped moonbeam's yellow glow". Thanks for pointing me to this gem that I missed the first time around. Hope you are enjoying your week ~ John

Such a wonderful poem. 'Caught in between winter and spring' - I just commented yesterday on a poem which spoke about a flower growing out of the snow, and I in fact remarked what a beautiful image that was, as is this awesome write Michelle. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

The green pollen of March has arrived, almost as if in a cloud as you describe. Love the image of the "lilac icicles," Michelle. A fine tribute to the changes we see in spring! Hugs, Carolyn

FAVE! I fell in love with this poem by the second stanza. Stayed there all the way through. What a creative, gloriously-imaged write, Michelle. Thanks, Gershon
