Mad As a Herr

March dust, worth a King's ransom. March grass never was handsome. Mad as a Herr goes by Ma'am. Enters a lion, exits a lamb. —————

This was very interesting, Jeff. I googled the dust thing to find out there is an expression that uses it. I heard of Hare but not Herr of march. Were you making a joke? I think maybe you were but I wasn't sure. Anyway, I really liked this. Thanks for entering and congrats

It was a bit obtuse! A bushel of March dust - March is so wet that if you can scrape up any dust, it's worth a lot. March grass never was good - always too wet, doesn't look nice, so I used handsome to rhyme. Madder than a March Hare, you got. Herr is German for Mr., so a Herr who goes by Ma'am, well, that person would be madder than a March Hare :-) No worries, that was fun, and I enjoyed participating. Thanks!
