Lullaby Serenade

~ Lullaby Serenade ~ Long time ago, a lifetime it seems I serenaded my little girl off to her Land of Dreams Tucked her into bed, all cozy Cherubic face, with cheeks so rosy As I think back on it, I cry For I sang her this sweet lullaby Good-night, my darling Good-night, sleep tight Wake up, my darling With morning's light Sleep tight, my darling All through the night Good-night, my darling Good-night ~ Good night, Rachel Ilene ~

Only wish my daughter would feel the way you do. Oh, well. I try my best. Smiles, Gershon

G'day Gershon … this lyric is really, really good Gershon. So serene and most definite a lullaby - well done Gershon - Lindsay

Thank you, Wendy... I've just sent my daughter the poem, although by snail mail, so we'll soon know if she even remembers the lullaby. Best wishes, Gershon

Aw, thank you, Brenda. But, really, it couldn't be any more amazing than your wonderfully romantic poems, which I so enjoy reading. Blessings, gw

Rachel Ilene sounds lovely. I know she will be happy to read this today, or some day. My own children have read none of my poems that I know. It is amazing how fond of their childhoods we become after they are long gone from them.

We shall see how Rachel Ilene reacts. I just snail-mailed her the poem this morning. She lives in New Jersey. Who knows if she'll enjoy it or not, even at age 39+ ! Thanks for the great feedback, Caren. Cheers, gw

what a beautiful poem, what a beautiful lullaby, sounds as if you were a great father my friend! I always sang my children to sleep, even friend's children if they stayed over...i think i was still singing to my daughter when she was 4 or 5... love this! :) hugs

Aw, thanks, Sandra... Me, too: I was singing to Rachel until she was six or so. (Then, of course, it wasn't 'cool' anymore). Now I sing the song to my wife on occasion. It's 'cool' again. LOL. Thanks for the encouraging words. Warm wishes, Gershon
