Love's Empathy
The narrow bridge I crossed, was to your heart
Fighting like a sparrow small through a storm
To rescue you before desires depart
Drifting through your endless days as they form
A broken heart brings a cold winter's wind
Chilling a fragile soul down to its core
Release darkest demons, you must exscind
Or be chained in dungeon black, a captor
Weaken this iron darkness where light is kept
Locked away tightly and quietly fed
To visit briefly as memories wept
Opening the bridge where your heart has bled
So I may find you, before love's light fades
And allow your heart to trust, never afraid
