Lovely Lolli / a Misery In the Making

Wild spangled lolli of feminine wiles Pippy long stockings with sneaky sly smiles. Hair like gold brittle bristles, wires wrap Knoggin harnessed between hair band strap. Wild, flying eyes, wiggling under britches a merry carnival, organic stitches; attire of confetti a bomb of glee; this is the way you chose to redress me? Pink glitter Mary Janes make my feet prance. How could I sit down, I must make a dance. You say I’m spirited, take center stage. How could I ever rest dressed in this way? Who could be quiet, a wee gray field mouse if you put him in crinolines topped with a blouse? You’ve seemed to create a right fine me stew. Now what will the rest of the entire world do?

Oh la....my sisters loved dressing me up like a little doll. Those freaky bristly 'wire wraps' could have made anyone screech in out. Pain and endurance had never been one of my better childhood moments.:) A very thought provoking piece. Love the imagery and metaphors. I don't think that "a wee gray field mouse" would have stuck around for those torture sessions. Blessings to you and yours...Mikki

No not my daughter I have a son, 31. But actually reminded me of me at 5. And that we shouldn't dress our children for the stage and not expect them to act out! Man, I still remember the raw thighs from that poka dot crinolin. Light & Love Debbie

Me too! And the Mary Janes, dancing around. This is wonderful, Debbie. "a right fine me stew" great phrase! I'd like to see how the mouse would react to being dressed that way! Excellent, my friend! Love and hugs, Robin

I can see this energetic little girl dancing with "wild, flying eyes." Is this about your daughter, Deborah? It's a very sweet observation. Love, Carolyn
