Love Will Always Win

I want to save your life with this love I bear,
To hold you in my arms and tell you it was always there
All around you, the darkness sways
But inside you the light still stays

I’m sorry my words fail me
I’m sorry I’m so weak
If only you could see me
If only love could speak

I want to take you to the top of the mountain
And let the rain pour down on you
To allow those tears to spurt in fountains
To sooth your core of blue

But you are strong
And words always ring
My heart will pull you along
With every boil and every sting

I’m sorry my words fail me
I’m sorry I’m so weak
If only you could see me
If only love could speak

I want to say that I do love you
But you cannot hear me until the darkness leaves you
So I will wait here with an open hand
Hoping, always hoping to understand

You are strong
Words will always pull you on
And the light inside you from deep within
Tells me love will always win

John Hamilton April 20, 2016 at 9:09 PM Great lyric, not a lot of difference between song writing and poetry, in music the melody is the key, weak lyrics can be overcome by the melody, the hook is the key.Song writing needs to be elemental(look at coldplay) is much easier than poetry. You have your 4 verses and chorus now you just need a bridge and your done!

These are beautiful words, poetical and romantic (nothing mushy!) coming from a sincere heart. Words might fail to describe what a person truly feels, but in your case you got so close to doing so! I'm trying to get a good melody for the chorus. Been busy this week. I wrote this song for a friend who was struggling with deep depression. It kind of just came out, so it's pretty raw right now.
