Love Us Never To Fail

Time again to make seal of our love...
goodness knows, so long over-due –
Needing really to plant ours firmly to
define, Something just right for us two ~ of
fondness both old and new: the years we have
dearly cared, all the intimacies
divinely shared – and those times hereon
we declare, for such love, one
life nearly not enough to bear – So, this is to
chronicle yesterday's embraces, also a crest
about now – what's more, a song of
tomorrow, then eternity, our finding a way
somehow – for if seers, they wrongly informed
us, and our preachers, their heaven though
precious but a tale, rely then we entirely on
love, having known love us never to fail.

Thank you, Evelyn; for poets I think, love comes naturally. That's our easiest. Blessings my friend.

Hi Prince-and His Princess. What a love story this is! It’s quite overwhelming, my friend. A work of art, like a Picasso. So glad you are part of my life. Sometimes a friend..,is something you are not. I can count on you. More years and even deeper love to a very special two. Love, Pangie xo

Hi Pangie. "Picasso" ~ love it! Thank you...the pleasure mine and Ila's as well. Also prompting this poem is all that is going on in the world: people willing to die for freedom and their love of country...which is a meditation, being death would, in physical terms, seem to stop one's experience of freedom and love. So...though religious beliefs may express differently, something in common to most seems to be a deeper sense of continuation, a freedom and love at the least equally as great and possibly greater beyond this brief journey.

Joe, in reading this poem, I was permitted a touch into a time you experienced of high inspiration! A magnificent telling of your love. I felt privileged to peek into your shared devotion. I really liked the interior line rhymes as they came along. A poem like this, by describing such love surely helps the seekers… xox sally

Thank you, Sally; your comments humble me, and truly make me feel proud to part of such a deeply feeling, poetic community. Of course, here I speak of my wife and myself...but I have been let down, in my life, by people whom I have loved and been loved by....regardless, Love has never let me down, always the better for having loved.
