Notes About The Poem

For Regina McIntosh's Love Story poetry contest

Love Story

My voice was mute like featherless songbirds, without vocal chords to sing doting tunes. Sleeping spirit yearned for amorous words, composing twin flames to ignite from fumes. Glance of her eyes and embers kindled bright, like gold moonlight kissing indigo waves. Symphonic stars formed in a lonely night, as we sang among galactic airwaves. Her touch is a cliché of butterflies, her lips kiss like ballads with boundless verse. Without her I can feel my heart capsize, in sickness and in health, she is my nurse. Her name remains on the tip of my tongue, as her love completes lyrics, once unsung.

Deeply written dear Silent. We all need that one love that would make us better singers and poets. I love your romantic love poems. We need more men that would tell us how our smile would shake the earth's feet. Her name remains on the tip of my tongue, as her love completes lyrics, once unsung." As it should.

"Glance of her eyes and embers kindled bright, like gold moonlight kissing indigo waves. Symphonic stars formed in a lonely night, as we sang among galactic airwaves." Highly poetic and deeply romantic. All the images used are so alluring. How the muse in you is rendered a new life and how you sing in galactic airwaves with the very sight of your loved one. A great entry for the contest. All the Best. You are a great sonneteer too, dear Silent One.

Wonderful poetry on romantic love and the yearning for a soulmate dear SO. The profound emotions felt for a loved one and the sense of fulfillment and delight that their presence brings are beautifully expressed by you. The poem was already stunning before you used descriptive words to show how intense the feelings were. The use of evocative and charming language such as "amorous," "kindled bright," "galactic airwaves," and "boundless verse" sets a vibrant and enchanting mood. The use of metaphors like "her touch is a cliché of butterflies" and "her lips kiss like ballads" further serves to highlight the loved one's tenderness and attractiveness."
