Love Song....

We were one, we were all, we were the only Future full of hope, nothing could stand in our way But dreams can change, visions fall... I would walk through fire for just one more day You were the angel of my life, you taught me to be free Now you’ve walked away, slamming the door behind you – And though guilt stains your face in tears of blood, I feel no pity I can’t tolerate your sadness, ‘Cause it’s me you are drowning Nor will I allow any happiness, ‘cause every time you laugh I feel so guilty...so guilty... So now here I am, stuck in this slow-motion dark day I’m like a stranger in your eyes...these walls are closing in on me In cold sunlight I pine away towards yet another morning Another hopeless day, alone My mind weary of sorrow, my body tired from the way I welcome yet another morning of longing and dismay Kneeling in the groves of death, bowed by torment and regret, I face up to the serrated, poisonous truth - That Our Love would have conquered all Were we not parted... If you had wanted, darling, you could have been all the things I need... And I would have crawled through knives for you, An inch per tear. These knees of mine, they bleed for you, And my heart lies slashed to ribbons. But now shadows fall, the day is done, I’m left here wondering: Is this the end, my final words to you....? Softly I sit mired in these shadows and start to sing this melancholy dirge “Let’s drown ourselves in this love, my darling, my only one Let’s give our lives for this love... Because Love can conquer all Love can even conquer… Hate.” (Please note - this is composed of snippets of lyrics from several of my favourite songs, with some of my own words added in. It doesn't flow perfectly, some of it rhymes, some doesn't according to the song, but I did my best and it turned out ok in my opinion. Bands' lyrics used include In Flames, Insomnium, Sentenced and Cradle of Filth)

A tribute of your own...I thought it flowed pretty well. I think I could tell where the transitions were. A cool idea I think! So you know how you said of my Tribute poem you didn't know who the guys the poem was for were? You finished your comment with the word "sublime" I was amused by that because Bradley Nowell was the lead singer of my all time favorite band...named--guess--SUBLIME!!! Weird, huh? Love, Me
