Love Rises Up In Smoke

We’ve faced five thousand wars since love became ours to keep, and will see but one more before we fall asleep. We’ve fallen in too fast, got lost in the deep, and now we’re losing time and love’s last chance, remember vows sworn and our first dance? A time when it was worth the leap. Now links to bridges are broke, hourglass of loss awoke, this mount is too steep, the gods have spoke. ashes rise, dead eyes... smoke.
