LOVE REBORN

(A Sequel To “Rough Draft”) Verse 1: In the library’s corner, tucked in the trash, A wadded up paper, a forgotten ash. But a few words exposed, a whisper of grace, Caught her eye, and time slowed its pace. She pulled it gently, her fingers so kind, Pressed out the wrinkles, a solace she’d find. She read what was left, a line lost in fear, A thought once abandoned, now drawing her near. Pre-Chorus: She wondered aloud if the poet had known, That a single line could make her feel whole. With longing, she whispered, “This could have been true,” A masterpiece, a dream breaking through. Chorus: And she saw me there, standing alone, The girl of my dreams, where love had not grown. In her eyes, a reflection, a story untold, A piece of my soul in the words that unfold. In that moment, the past found its voice— Two hearts together, a beautiful choice. Verse 2: She looked at the paper, with awe in her gaze, Each line a reflection, a light in the haze. A dream half forgotten, a song half unsung, But with every breath, the melody’s young. She dreamed of a love, tender and true, Wishing every word could have been made new. Her fingers traced softly, as if to repair, The lines of the past, and a love she would share. Pre-Chorus: She whispered again, with a tear in her eye, “What if this poem was not meant to die?” And in the silence, she knew in her heart, This forgotten dream would be a new start. Chorus: And she saw me there, standing alone, The girl of my dreams, where love had not grown. In her eyes, a reflection, a story untold, A piece of my soul in the words that unfold. In that moment, the past found its voice— Two hearts together, a beautiful choice. Bridge (Desire): She held it close, as if to confess, “I found your sorrow, your pain, your distress.” But when our eyes met, I knew from the start— She was the answer to my broken heart. Chorus (reprise): And she saw me there, standing alone, The girl of my dreams, where love had not grown. In her eyes, a reflection, a story untold, A piece of my soul in the words that unfold. In that moment, the past found its voice— Two hearts together, a beautiful choice. Outro (whispered): A poem forgotten, now a love reborn, In the space where the lost dreams are sworn. She took what was mine, made it hers to keep— The girl of my dreams, in the silence so deep.

oh well, for gosh sakes! I was hoping the rough draft would be found and you've made that hope a reality! Accolades for completing your rough draft into something really beautiful. In the right hands, all we have to offer is accepted and appreciated... sometimes when we least expect it. And now the rough draft has had its jagged edges hewn by love.
