Love, Not Really

Love you came with a tickle
from my nape down to my feet,
like fresh fruit from the vine,
you tasted delectably sweet.
A brush of softest feather,
blood coursing through my veins,
love you taught me your lessons,
studious, I’m glad you came.
In the heated glow of morning,
in deep ebony disguise,
love came at every hour;
love came with truths and lies.
I asked for more and more of you;
I begged you please don’t go.
I tried to beguile you, tried to seduce,
your affections were for show.
Oh, Love you were a prankster,
not really true love at all,
but wow, you knew just how to please.
I’m grateful that you called…
I'll never condone your deception,
I don’t like to be taunted or teased,
but for you, I’ll keep on begging,
please once more…come back, please.

Reading your poems is a learning experience to me Rhonda. Who can think of such line like"...in deep ebony disguise" or"....Love you came with a tickle from my nape down to my feet, like fresh fruit from the vine..." Congrats on your deserved win. God bless. Hugs!>>>rajat

It's like Jan's. Both love AND hate. It's a GREAT entry. It would be on MY list if this were my contest. I have one at home to post but I won't be home until about two more hours. I am scared I will miss it because it filled up super fast today! yikes. BTW, how is our "project" coming along. Do you and Jan have at least ten examples?

Your poem takes a glimpse of love's fickle nature in and delivers its message well. Emile. #7
