LOVE IS WOOL

Moma’s hands of comfort and skills ~~ the sweetest I’ve ever known

When small, mom’s loving hands knitted me Barbie’ clothes.
Bro and I were smitten with her puppet-like animal mittens.
My son’s toddler, fire engine sweater is displayed wall posed,
and a bed blanket of varied, unique squares does heart pull.
Wool surrounds me, it hugs and comforts me, love is wool.

ahhh, so charming and sweet, Caycay. Sorry I am only seeing it now. I came here to find out why I have not heard from you lately and it looks like you have not posted anything new in over two weeks. I sure hope you are ok. Did you see my emails? Please call me, sweetie.

Something about wool in all its varieties… warm, durable, and lovable, a fiber that holds our lives together, across generations. I gave my 1 yo grandson a small hand knotted Turkmen rug for Christmas this year and the first thing he did was sit crosslegged on it - like it would take him somewhere!

Woollen clothes on winter nights have the comfort of a mother's hug. On reading this poem, I am reminded of my own mother. Though she never learned tailoring, she used to stitch frocks for me and my younger sister. I sense deep nostalgia in your poem.

Nice - yeah, I guess fabric can bring comfort. Your poem reminds me of my grandmother's things knitted that she called afghans, and they were comfortable in our cold house. She also knitted all kinds of holiday stuff.
