She dances to his tune When she does his bidding, he’s over the moon He acts so cool Yet he plays her for a fool This innocent girl has got the hots But she is so naive he’s calling all the shots She dangles like a puppet on a string Can’t see that she’s just his plaything He’s like so many other cheating lying guys Using her because she’s not worldly wise She needs to get wise Get wise to his lies He wears a disguise You can’t see his eyes Get wise Get wise Or does he have you hypnotised? Wise up before he leaves you for another Get wise so it won't come as a surprise. 08-07-17

Loving someone leaves you vulnerable. I think that's why some people, girls especially but guys too, are so wary of it. Flowing, perceptive verse. Love it!

to many women fall for this trap and never the wisest... Or no where else to go... you can almost make a Jester poem using Trump. :) and the way he treats his wife and the women around him.. he thinks he's god gift to women

Wise advice from a prudent poet! I loved it Jan! Young girls are often attracted to bad boys until they have their eyes opened! : )

Grrr! Was a point in time, this father was near-homicidal. Fortunately she bailed before I had to kill him;-) (from a dad's perspective) It sure is a strange thing, how they're attracted to the wild ones. Guess maybe its the same as flies liking that stinky stuff. Ah heck, great poem Jan! Hugapoots ~ j

Love is blind; love should not be blunt or as a blade hurting the love and the beloved. Nice lines about routine life!

Blind love like that can be really deceptive n harmful. Your poem is marvellous in conveying and exposing the conning fooling fickle fake loves out there. I admire the rhyme here too. Warmest wishes pal. Take care.

I adore free verse with rhyme, and this is wonderful ... I so wish deception was not such an easy tool for people to use, because it causes so much turmoil and grief, as this beautiful poem describes. Love it!

People can be so easily deceived in a relationship and its very hard to break free when someone is pulling the strings and you can't let go. I didn't know what form to call it so I labelled it as fee verse - I could reclassify it as rhyme... what do you think?:-) hugs jan xx

Much truth in your poem. It's sad to see these situations from the outside.

Too often people take infatuation for love and allow themselves to be easily led by the hand of another. If someone is treating this one like she's a puppet, she'd best clip those strings from his hands and dance to the tunes of her own choosing.

This is a very sad truth Jan. You have written it perfectly. Some people do carry on not seeing things clearly rather than walking away. Well done :)

It is bad when you get fooled by someone Jan. Many times it is ego...you got lucky you found your hubby.

So sad that this happens to people! It goes the other way around too, maybe not as much, but a man can be hypnotized to a woman who plays him like a fiddle! I've seen that before! Your poem shows it perfectly! What a fabulous piece my friend, Great Work!!

oh yes I agree it works both ways Russell, but this is based on the woman being the victim to his deceptive ways:-( hugs Jan xx
