Love As a Rose
A withering rose can only smile for so long
A burdened tree can only walk so far
Bitterness is cold comfort
Death is the only reward
Melodies play amongst the burdened souls
As a gentle breeze caresses
Love is a weak gesture
of wishes unanswered.
A single thought can provoke
A need for more emotion
A simple tear tells the end is near
To those with a lesser purpose
Disturbing is the wayward heart
when bitterness it greets
Its the sad tale of a loveless heart that clouds whisper of to the sea.
