Love

Once I thought I wanted some,
So, I went looking for it.
I looked long and hard,
Finally found it, perfect!
I took it home and used it.
I thought it was a perfect fit.
Then it began to itch.
I scratched, but it got worse.
I decided to take it back.
Didn’t get much, it was used.
Slow learner, I still want some.

Reminds me of my earlier years when I thought I knew everything about love. Older folks tried to warn me but I was thick-headed and I had to learn on my own. This is a great free verse. Thank you for sharing. Milt

Smile-What a creative write dear, "'Love'ly & Precious Barbara!"~Yes, it is like that old saying/song, "Looking for love in all the wrong places?"~And of course, time & revelations, more than not, will eventually cause quite an itch I believe? An old professor of mine once told me, that his girlfriend told him, "I think I just met my future ex-husband"~Smile~Lovely write dear-keep searching-and you shall find!~"Love Always, John!:)
