Lost Love

A fetching gaze across the room Our eyes meeting locking as one Hearts pounding and pulses racing My full attention you’ve all but won An informal first date not yet meaningful For who knows what tomorrow will bring Our personalities and interests a perfect match Another date, not just a casual meaningless fling Passionate and exciting our love growing With the passing of each brand new day Building a bond of endless trust and love Already knowing what each other has to say Promising ourselves we’ll never grow old Of a fairy tale love surrounding our lives Taking a vow of respect and loyalty As we watch our beautiful relationship thrive Two have become one, we’re married at last Swearing to never take for granted our love The passion and adornment slowly diminishing As our we stroll down separate paths thereof Always moving forward, yet still looking back Unable to reverse the current state of mind A passionless friendship now painfully in place Lost lovers dreams and detachment you’ll now find © Stacy Lynn Stiles
