Lost And Found

And if Love were merely
A matter of purchase,

Corner store on every block,

Heart-shaped port for every
Dock --

At a terminal of wings
On every ticket counter
Always accepted sizable Rings –

But great kings have sadly found,
Some rings Slip off, having changed
A round --

Rich man, Poor man, Good man, Thief --

Love neglected~ is love brief.

Love neglected is love brief indeed, that line really hits so hard for me! As I feel that right now dear Joe! Beautiful poem, so effortlessly delivered as always! Pleasure reading you again. Sending you light always

Empress, thank you. The most precious thing to accept and give, while the most unappreciated and abused. Wishing you Light and Love. Blessings my friend.

Thank you, Andrea; cute is often more appealing than brain-surgery. What the heck. Simpler can be best...why my wife chose me I suspect.

An interesting era, early 60's. Sometimes I would see Robin Williams doing street pantomime. Max Roach (Great drummer) at the Five Spot in the village. A best friend went to a Warhol private party, was rather quiet about it. An era of drugs, protest -- no wonder only few us still survive. I passed on Woodstock but knew some who were there. Over sentimentalized.

Met all kinds, it was a good education for poetry. I recited a long thriller poem of mine in front of Poe Cottage in my youthful days, to members of the New York Poetry Society. A lot of fun.

New York City, originally yes. Been in Phoenix the last 35 years. Getting crowded here now also. Way of the world I guess. Thank you, Anaya. Have a great writing weekend!
