Lord, I Am Thankful

As I awake each morning to the rising of the sun,
                                               I am Thankful

          Rejoicing in the cycle of the seasons that go round and round,
                                               I am Thankful

             To witness Spring's awakening and Summer's magic glow,
             Autumn's palette rich in harvest,to share in its abundance,
                And the mantle of tranquility, of Winter's solemn pause,
                                               I am Thankful

             For family and friends who have shared in my life, through
                     The uncertainty and qualm of the manic pandemic,
                                               I am Thankful

             As I watch the sun settle in a copse of trees, when day is done
                                               I am Thankful
