Loose Tooth

My grandson has his first loose tooth And he is so excited As I am, if you want the truth, For we are both united In knowing it’s a real big deal; It means he is maturing. Such milestones do have great appeal And so, are reassuring. Of course, he wants the fairy’s cash And, like friends, recognition. For me, though, there’s a little flash Of nana intuition. He’s growing up so fast and soon, His teeth one way to show it, He’ll soar in life up to the moon And in my heart, I’ll know it.

My mother would have laughed her head off if I asked for even a dime for losing a tooth! A boy losing a tooth was considered normal and natural, nothing more. /Maurice

$5 per tooth? Are tooth fairies now delivering IOUs? I see AFV videos of children "pulling" a loose tooth, so expect a follow-up from Ilene! Aloha! Rico

O.K., now. Brace yourself for sticker shock. In the suburbs of Chicago, kids get $5 per tooth. Since beer at the ballpark is only $10 in Chicago, while it's $14 in NY -- you better do the math, TF!! lol. Cute one, ilene. Shep nachas, gw
