Longing To Be Near You
*dedicated to the woman who saved me-
yet just couldn't save herself*
the depth of hunger
feeds all that I am-
a fever ran down my
back with chills aching;
for I am but a woman
longing to be near you…
once again
your succulent nature
manic-
singing symphonies of
sonorous sorrow
with no self-love left
to borrow;
sharing panic,
lithe in love-
your ethereal wings
resounding above
the fear of hunger
feeds all that I am-
a crimson chrysalis
cries out in starvation,
knowing not the
loss it was to endure;
and I am left alone,
longing to be near you…
once again
beguiled and left
in oppression,
fought hard to
ease depression-
sanctified by many,
but I see
all the pain left by
your tragic debris
the love of hunger
feeds all that I am-
for I crave the
anguish you felt,
so that I can
somehow relate
to your caprice;
your impulsive
transgressions
attack me like
lightning
so, tell me then...
why do I long to
be near you
once again?
-if-
the fear of seeing
you once again,
cripples my soul and
my lullaby pen
