Long Ago
Long Ago
A moonlit August night, was it long ago?
You captured me with your glance
I felt the heat of love grow
You took my breath away
Head over heels, as they say
Summer romance began
Without rules, without plan
Was it so long ago?
But now I feel despair
Winter chill, it has filled the air
Icy darkness is everywhere
See my bitter teardrops flow
Alone and helpless in the lonely night
Without your smile to make my spirits bright
I miss your arms that used to hold me tight
It was long ago
A cold December night- it's begun to snow
I long for soft summer light
Tell me, now where did it go?
The trees look gray and bare
Come back my love so fair
Summer dreams, they have died
I feel empty inside
Where's my love long ago?
I cry in the winter breeze
Summer love trapped in frozen seas
I am lost, stumbling on my knees
See my bitter teardrops flow
You broke my heart the day you said good-bye
You stole my sunlight from a tranquil sky
You took my soul, and still I don't know why
It was long ago
Yes, now I feel despair
Winter chill it has filled the air
Icy darkness is everywhere
See my bitter teardrops flow
Alone and helpless in the endless night
Without your smile to make my spirits bright
I miss your arms that used to hold me tight
Oh, so long ago
