Little Mouse
Little mouse, I hear you
Though you think me unaware.
I hear you scurry around my house,
Little mouse, I know you're there.
But worry not little mouse
For I would bait no trap with cheese.
Enjoy the warmth of my home,
Come and go just as you please.
Little mouse come build your nest
Come build it warm and snug,
Maybe near the chimney breast
Or 'neath the old hearth rug.
Little mouse I may seem sad
A widow, old and grey.
But your scurrying, it makes me smile
I love to hear you play.
