Little Goat So Frail

I'm in love with this little goat so small and pale, frightened and frail-- afraid of his own shadow. Note his nervous hooves. When cool winds blow he ducks his head, heads for his shed by the church house in the meadow.

Thank you, Mark. Yes, I saw those fainting goats on TV. Amazing how they just get up and get running again after fainting.

Hi Jennifer, Good to hear from you, and I'm so glad you liked my poem. Although this little guy is a figment of my imagination I'd love to own a sweet little goat like him. Then, maybe Barkley would have a playmate.

Dear Carol Louise, I am enchanted by the magic that spills from your sweet and gifted pen. Such a precious rhyme, I'm in love with this little goat too! :)) I especially loved; "he ducks his head/ heads for his shed" - your clever artistry delights and your poem's rhythm captivates. Your vivid imagery is so very endearing, my inspiring friend. Warmest wishes and hugs.. ~Susan

Thank you, dear Susan, for your appreciation of my poem. I believe this form was called the Onda Mel, but I couldn't find much about it on the internet. It seems to be the right combo of syllabic count and line length to make for the nice rhythm and sentimentality of a poem. Hugs to you, my dear poetry friend. Carol Louise
