Dove, dove, little dove, What do you see in me - A smiling man who seeks out birds For his society? Dove, dove, hungry dove, What do you see today? Old man with scraps of nuts and bread He could have thrown away. Dove, dove, with baby dove, How do you treat your young? You feed them well, as I once did And teach them songs you've sung. Dove, dove, turtle dove You coo, "where is your love?" She's gone to soar on higher breeze, My lovely turtle dove Dove, dove, little dove What do you see in me? A lonely man who seeks out birds For his society. written 1 Aug 2020

Thank you, Paula. I like your comment about Noah's dove, with the olive branch, two symbols of peace.

White doves are always used at religious and sometime political occasions because of their very obvious color and sentiment they bring - Peace above all else - lovely, lovely write my friend, Blessings and hugs, Jennifer

Thank you, my wonderful friend. The doves I saw that inspired this were kind of plain brown, but I couldn't find pictures of them online, only white. How are you doing these days? I hope you and hubby are well. Hugs ~ John

hope we are not both in the HM club together again. Worse, the N/A club. One never knows what will tickle the judge's fancy but I am eager to see what I thinks of this sweet little poem!

One never knows. All one can do is cast one's birdseed on the ground and see who wants to partake. Thanks for the two comments, my friend.

The dove in this photo is much more beautiful than the dull, brown one that inspired this write on Friday. But there aren't a lot of photos of dull, brown doves available!
