Little Dogs
What do little dogs do?
They wait, that's what,
For a kind hand to stray
And pat them each day.
That's what little dogs do;
They wait . . that's what!
What do little dogs think?
They think, I'll wait, that's what.
Till they see me right here
Near their old easy chair.
That's what little dogs think.
They think; I'll wait . . that's what.
What do little dogs love?
They love, love, that's what!
They love a kind word and a pat on the head;
A treat and a walk and to sleep on the bed.
That's what little dogs love.
They love, love . . that's what.
Who do little dogs love, who, who?
Why you, that's who.
Without you nearby
They will lay there and sigh
And just wait . . that's what!
