Little Bird

Little Bird

Upon each light of dawn
my whispers cry "wake to new"
From such a moment listen well
as I spread harmony through song
As the sky turns from blue to black
I'll be around for all to see

Upon the darkness of dusk
my post I temporarily leave in flight
When I fly I'm never far away
but I must stand a higher ground
Until such flight and magic of dawn
I'm the little bird who whispers strong

Hello dear Anil - I’m sorry for this late response - life has been busy and difficult. My dad has been sick and was struggling and suffering and ultimately passed away on January 17th. Please forgive me for this late response. I am honored that you read my first post with poetrysoup. Thank you for that and for being you….

Nice, Lisa - and I have to laugh in warm weather when the birds start singing. I'm used to hearing them start at a very regular time. 4:15 a.m., nothing. 4:30 a.m. nothing. 4:45 a.m. there they are. They know what's going on.
