Lit By Love

there’s a silence somewhere that listens and hears

that feels all our pain through the gift of our tears

that helps us to see in that dark which we hide

by shining a light - lit by love - deep inside.

I originally planned a poem based on The Lady Chapel at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral Ann and I were visiting last year. The idea though felt a little flat; it was to be a straightforward description of that small but beautiful chapel in the cathedral's basement. Rather than stick with that, I started thinking about the atmosphere of the place and how I could put that into words instead - hence this poem. :) Cheers - Gary
