Listening To Grandpa
Henry had not seen a woman like this in his life.
She was modestly covered, even her hands.
Wearing delicate tiny gloves like his grandma used to wear.
There was no hint of sassiness, she was demure.
Who is she? He wondered, looking at her boots.
They were functional, there was no ankle to see.
She was an anomaly in the world of sassy bold women.
He was intrigued and wanted to know her.
Why would you pursue this one? Asked his brother.
She is all covered up, you can’t even see her knees.
Grandpa told me these are the wild ones, Henry replied.
After marriage, he realized how wrong grandpa had been.
