Listen To the Warm Prose

"It happens just because we need to want, and to be wanted too...when love is here or gone to lie down in the darkness and... listen to the warm.” -Rod McKuen

To the world I live alone, I loiter alone, I talk alone, I banter

alone, I sleep alone, BUT I am not alone!

You are my shadow as I was yours some time ago.

You are always with me, I can breathe your fragrance.

Now I'm shrouded in sorrow and there's a ghostly
silence gripping me, strangling me, suffocating me.

I need you as I have never needed anyone before. Hold me in
your arms as you have never held anyone before. I long to hear
your sweet whispers that had the power to drown my gloom. I
still remember with fondness how you were always uplifting my
spirits. Do you remember the November evening when we sat
on the Dagshai hill overlooking the valley? We had watched a
hill woman carrying the burden of family? You looked and lifted
a waft of flying strand whispering close to my ear, 'I'll make you
sit in the warmth of my heart". It was music to my soul. I can still
recall the sweet promises you had made when you first held my
hand. I wish you were here to caress my sorrows away on this
dark lonely night. Though far away, my soul still is with you, my
eyes search for you, my ears wait for you and my heart beats for
                                                           YOU .
Let our distances melt away in this sweltering pain and nestle back
to your cozy hearth in my heart.

If ever "melt-in-the-mouth" could describe a written piece, then it's here, Balveen. Passionately spoken, and I especially like the ending.
