Great Senryu with an impact of feelings. Silence, they say is golden, but reading your comments, I can see why. I'm single sided hearing, meaning one side is dead, so when I have silence then abruptly a loud noise, I jump. Enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem. Mahalo, Sara, and likewwise, my friend. I came to know that fact from our old Hawaiian church. During our moments of silent reflection, within seconds, a baby breaks out crying, we kids break out giggling, and the Sunday School monitor taps the blackboard with the pointer stick. Then my tutu (church deacon) would glare at us--now that was an eerie silence. Shh! Aloha, William

Yeah, Linda! I remember the kids pulled that stunt many times with the boys PacMan handhelds and the girls on the cordless phones (cellphones not yet) under their blankets, hmm? Aloha, William
