Liquor Talking

In your sleep, you told me you loved me Again In the morning you’ll deny your feelings Again Your words come from the booze I lose Again Though it’s nice listening to words inspired by liquor Just wish you’d remember them when you’re sober Not inspired by a recent event -- just memories.

Are you sure it was liquor and not truth serum? Great submission.

ahh.... the memories of how booze not taken in moderation can mess up just about any important moment. Your poem doesn't bring back very pleasant memories but is certainly a needed reminder of a truth.

A heart-breaking truth told in this small poem. One kind of love that many will understand and not feel so alone. Poignant words, Carolyn.

Hi Carolyn! Sometimes I do have a problem with dissociating themes, fact or fiction. Makes me somewhat of a "Duddhead".:( I'm sorry Carolyn. Still, I do think this is a great poem!! Best regards, Mikki

Hi Carolyn! Doesn't sound like you might have lost a whole lot? On the other hand, 'booze' may have been his love and courage elixir? Still, doesn't sound like a truth potion. It would have been agonizing living with someone who always needed to have 'three sheets to the wind'. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Best to you, Mikki

and expressed very well, I once had a boyfriend addicted to liquor but I did not know in the beginning, he was the nicest person in the world, until he drank, then everything would change, what a pity, and it destroyed him and all he loved, you expressed the cost to a relaltionship in your poem wonderfully~~

Alcohol! You have alerted a former alcoholic, namely myself. Though they will deny it, alcoholics are all of a kind. They HIDE all sorts of things. Stay away from them, dear friend. LOve, Dave
