Lily Petal

Lily-petal was the quintessential female ringmaster She commanded her animals to be super phenomenal They did not let her down Her monkeys would run around the circus stealing caps The children would laugh and howl at their father’s expressions Whether the caps were returned, I never knew Lions, tigers and bears followed Lily-petal’s lead They would do summersaults, high kicks, jump through burning hoops Maybe not the bear, but the tigers and lions would. Everyone at the circus did what Lily-Petal asked. Because she was delightful and fun And we were in love with her
