Contest: I'm a Flower

Sponsor: Tania Kitchin

I am quite a peculiar sort, My fragrant blooming days are short. My petite petals well bell shaped, In virgin, pristine white they’re draped. I’m famed in myths and legends’ scope - Symbol of happiness and hope. Disclaimer: Beware beautiful butterfly, There’s more to me than meets the eye: My intense scent however sweet, Not designed as a nectar treat.

I love your personification of this flower. I don't know much about any flower so this is not only fun to read but also informative. Hope you will try my list contest.

Great poem Margarita. A few years back we were in Finland and found out this is their national flower. The flowers can be poisonous to humans and animals I believe but it doesn’t put off the French it seems as sprigs of L of the V are handed out to family on their Labour Day. (I only know this as I remember writing similar comments for another Souper’s poem about this flower a few years back) :) Cheers - Gary

Your words are filled with the beauty of this wonderful flower - one of my favorites! I have several pots of lily of the valley on my patio and always eagerly await their blooms and scent! Best wishes for the contest! One of my favorite perfumes is based on this flower. Blessings.
