Life's Second Chance

Of chances lost and memories I've wept
As misty silhouettes dance from heart to mind
When once before no oath was kept
This grief I've felt cannot stay blind

Yet once again my hope gains strength
This gift from you must share its due
I pray to give new light true length
With blessed intent to start anew

Life's scars hold not their own recourse
Alone, I dare not dress these wounds
You've put an end to all discourse
No more healing balm is to be found

To have such peace again to share
Please walk with me as I dream to dare

I love the sonnet, naturally, as it's brilliantly composed - but I'm curious about the picture. I'm sure it's just me being ignorant but could you share what the correlation is?

Ah! Thank you for that. As I expected the explanation did make me feel dumb. I've only seen that movie about 500 times so don't know why I couldn't figure that out. Thanks Charlie!

It's from the movie "It's A Wonderful Life" starring Jimmy Stewart as George Baily. It's a Christmas classic about how life would be different without them and second chances... Thanks Phillip

An optimistic sonnet! Second chances at life always produce determined results, be they physical or spiritual. Many thanks for the kind stop by. Yes, I am a wine lover but in moderation. In fact, I'm enjoying a red wine at the moment. Best to you in your writing endeavors. / M
