Life's An Even Bet

Yellow face flowers, front little houses, ending up on hats, and womens blouses. Men in leather shoes, hurry down the walk, on their way to church, to stand on the rock. Dogs peer out windows, never getting out, as the neighbor boy, walks his paper route. There's a blind girl, that lives down the way, she sits in the park, while other kids play. The flowers now dried, colored leaves falling, a man looks at stars, past voices calling. Life's a mystery, and an even bet, to get what you like, just like what you get.
