Lifeless Creed

What should I do? Should I give up my dream? Should I follow the stream? Should I become less extreme? What should I do? Should I grow old and die? Should I remember and cry? Should I please and comply? No really, what would you do? If your dream was your bond And there was nothing beyond That untouched magical pond Who should I be? Should I be just like you? Should I spit before I chew? Should I blend with the crew? What should I do? Should I just wait for the end? Should I just wait and pretend? Should I just wait to descend? What should I do? Should I hang my head in shame? Should I just be another name? Should I start playing the game? No really, what would you do? If you were trying so hard to proceed While the masses urge you to concede And succumb to their lifeless creed. Who should I be? The office worker in a booth? The man who preaches the truth? The slave who forgot his youth? What should I do? Should I jump to step zero point four? Should I wed a woman I abhor? Should others’ concerns be my core? What should I do? Should I hang up my boots? Should I buy expensive suits? Should I forget my grassroots? No really, what would you do? If you had a brilliant plan But you were the only man An outcast in a mundane clan Who should I be? Everyone’s best friend? Without a cause to defend? Nor a stubborn soul to offend? What should I do? I should not look back I should step off track I should go forth and attack What should I do? I should lead you to the unkown I should shatter my comfort zone I should do it all alone No really, what would you do? Would you think for yourself? Would you overlook wealth? Would you achieve with stealth? Who should I be? Not the man who resigned Not the man who was unkind But instead, the man whom life, redefined.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
