Let Us

Let us slide down memory road, Carnal our ride through the potholes That relentlessly weaves our souls Let us curb the unforgiving winds Of timorous ambiguity And rid our minds from noxious snares We are will thought not quite willing What one heart craves, another heart dreads Let us dare to delve The meandering roads by the hill side And grab the edge line of our naivity Let us spread the seeds of our smiles To the darling blossoms of honesty Let us build this frontline of longevity Our hearts will live forever Let us ignore the lazy cows That won’t run off the road No matter how fast we drive Forget the pictures that won’t be taken Reclaim the smiles from the cameras. Let us dance to songs unsung, To the rhythm of our heartbeats Serenade the offshore waves that roll, In the midst of the surrendering day To the dusk of mountain air Let us cherish the warm summers touch In the midst of biting winter cold Warmth that will never die, A touch that will never lose its grip Ignore the tension of shimmering sun That surrounds our guarded walls Sniff the best of a summers’ breeze, Embrace exoneration from the agony Of waiting for eternity And through it all I will forgive you, You will forgive me
