Lesson Learned

Do you know the phrase “Your life flashes before your eyes”? Well, I can’t say, one way or the other, if it’s true. But, I almost died earlier today and I don’t know why… The thoughts I had going through my mind were very few. Maybe it depends on the situation at hand, Such as how far in advance that you think you may die. What happened to me is etched in my mind like a brand. I’ll never forget it, not matter how hard I may try. Everything happened so fast… I had no time to think. I could only react with little more than blind fear. I had to move quickly… in the time it takes to blink. Had I not heard the tires squeal, I wouldn’t be here. That half a second of noise is what saved my life. I wish I could have seen the terror in my eyes. I’m glad I was able to come home to my wife. The love she gives me has been my ultimate prize.
