'Depths of jagged cold", 'quilts of frozen cape', 'amber shadowed dusk'... such striking images forged and wrought in Sam's own furnace of imagination. Excellent ! Love your exclusive phraseology ! Great poem, dear friend...

BJ, thank you so much! I still don't know what inspired me to think about spring as winter's legacy as spring looks nothing like winter. Your lovely message made my spirit do a little happy dance - your gift to me! I really like your idea of framing this poem! Would be fun to do a series based on the seasons! Thank you for the inspiration! Sending you blessings. Hope all is well!!

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, my sweet poetic sister and inspiring friend, indeed the legacy of winter is the birth of spring, a seasonal gift of warmth, beauty, color and life so much like the brilliant imagery spilled by your poetic pen. How amazing it is to consider winter/spring in that way. I so admire your unique perspective. Such a lovely appreciation expressed for both seasons. I adore "Wildflowers dream dreams of / Floral tapestry fields" your exquisite verse sings of spring even in the depths of winter's "jagged cold". Best wishes for a win and warmest wishes and hugs sent to you on silvery streams.. ~Susan

Hi Michelle! Thank you! It was such fun thinking about winter preparing for spring through hibernation - winter tending the sleeping seeds, buds, bulbs and trees watching over spring. Hope you are well! Blessings to you!

Exceptionally well penned, Sam. I like the poetic cycle of winter's legacy arriving, to the expectation of spring's birth from winter frigidity

Brian thank you!!! I had never thought about spring birthing from winter but I realized that in the time of cold and snow spring resides in cozy hibernation ready to germinate into a blast of flowers and colors - truly winter's legacy. I so appreciate your message! Blessings
