Left Over Peace

The hurricane rushed by off shore Stirring up surf and surging more Its outer bands reached far inland Where the wind speaks, we understand Large trees sway, branches of fury Its their falling that bring worry The wind turned tree leaves inside out Looked white from back sides blown about The large lake rolled waves with each crest Toward shore where nature shows best Love captured in power with loss The hurricane tried to show who's boss But the storm fled and all is calm Blue sky, sunshine, open hand palm Welcomes slight breeze, a wind chime song Peace left over is just as strong Heidi Sands 9/17/23 8 Syllables

Lee packed a punch. Just like this poem. It stormed and then left peace.

The greatest feeling is after the storm passes and you step outside to see no damage. Makes you want to do a little dance. Such a wonderful poem Heidi, to show the power of a storm and the peaceful calm that follows.

Hi Darlene. I am still out of town, so I am not sure yet. I am sure many branches came down with those wind gusts. I will know soon. Thank you, my friend :)
