Lazy, Dreamy Friday

Lazy, dreamy friday, Take me to your breathy skies I want to see your lonesome light glow In my eyes you can see how darkness pervades In my eyes you can see that I know longer feel so safe Lazy, dreamy friday Take my doubts away Lazy, dreamy friday, Hush the goodbyes that still echo in the ground Let the fiery embers of lust dim into cool resolve It is in my heart that you create what now I cope It is in my heart that I can face the world's larger scope Lazy, dreamy friday You alone are my only hope Lazy, dreamy friday Let me rest where the trees upward gaze I need your drooping sun in the eyes of waiting night In your trust I can end the day on a drifting breeze In your trust I can fully be at blissful ease Lazy, dreamy friday Pave the paths to imminent peace October 12, 2018

an absolute gem Laura the imagery is dreamy and calming:-) Love the impact of the repeated lines:-) adding this gem to my faves:-) You have such talent you and your brother... do your parents or grandparents write. I came to writing only 4 yrs ago but my aunt and uncle wrote and I've discovered my mum wrote (I've never seen her work) and also her parents wrote too so its in my blood. It just took my hubbies cancer to unleash it:-) hugs Jan xx

My grandmother actually wrote poetry when she was young. She was an English Literature major like myself - we have quite a lot in common in both interests and personality! She's 95 years old now. Kind regards, <3 ~Laura

Thanks so much, Jan, for stopping by to read this one, and thank you for the compliments. My younger brother David of whom you speak of is the one that introduced me to this site. I'm really glad he did as I really enjoy sharing poetry on here. (It also keeps me organized!! lol) It was a relaxing day when I wrote this one. I'm always grateful for fridays and the weekends and figured I should pay some homage.
