Teddy, I am very excited to hear that you are a fan of Zen philosophy, I myself will be forever grateful of the positive influence Zen and Pure Land Buddhism have played in my life. If you are interested, please visit my free Public Domain sutra translation library, I've recently written a long free verse art poem on the Samsara (first document) and I feel you might like it: https://www.scribd.com/user/269920848/bc1993

A delightful little poem! I myself love writing about Buddhist themes in poetry as well. If anyone is wondering, In East Asian Buddhism, the belly of the Laughing Buddha represents generosity and open-mindedness. This is echoed in the common Chinese saying that describes tolerant and generous people as having "a large bellyful" while petty people are alluded as being unable to stomach anyone else.

Thank you so much Brian, for enlightening us about the symbolism of the belly. Besides Buddhism, I'm also a fan of Zen philosophy, with the motto "Zen is not a religion. Zen is". Again, thank you so much for enjoying my verse!! :-)
