Sentimental rain creates puddles upon a lane of lost memories. Gone are those malachite meadows, where we once ran free. Clouds now reflect against intimidating soaring glass towers. The scent of Silent fresh air, replaced by raucous toxic bustling cars. In my childhood playground, rusty swings no longer blow in the wind, as a medley of broken dreams and forgotten promises, haunt my mind. I hardly recognise these taciturn faces running around like ants. Every strangers face I see, reminds me this place was never meant for me. As suppressed spirits slowly guide me to your final resting place, I am finally content, knowing, you are in the company of angels.

And by "manicured", I mean, anyone can make a diamond with the letters (font). But to arrange the am"bush" at the end. The arrangement is entity like, rather than haphazard . It gives form in 2 ways instead of 1 superficial way. I think you knew what I was saying, just being thorough. This may be the last...and furthermore (won't that be nice?) lol

To be clear "sterile" attributed to the Bonsai tree not seemingly bearing fruit. But it bears fruit indeed that feeds the soul in it's manicured aesthetic beauty.

I really like th way this is crafted. The hub at the end holding possibility for many offshoots. "As suppressed spirits slowly guide me to your final resting place," Within the rest of the poem is given topic by this Mother line. (It could be the memories, the childhood park, the better era, a graveyard of dreams...very awesome, and manicured like a Japanese Bonsai Tree, in a pregnancy of haunting fruit. Sterile, never.

Some interesting word choices in this one! It's amazing how much things can change, isn't it. The final couplet is kind of a twist ending, I think. Very well done.

Your poem is deep, lonely and melancholy, Silent One. Life is never the same.. we realize that our childhood with its hopes and dreams is lost and then sadly, so are some of those we love as the passage of time takes its toll. Your last two lines are especially moving. Our present can pale in comparison to our sweet memories of yesterday.. Belated congratulations on your well deserved recognition with POTD honors with your exquisitely expressed poem. Warmest wishes always my friend.. ~Susan
