Knowing the Spirit of Truth and of Error - 1 John 4: 1-6
It's good to be sure what you believe
not just believe but what's false too
for many spirits are all around
so test to see which ones are true
The ones that know Jesus Christ is of God
they are truly from God this you know
truly the holy spirit is evident
confessing Christ has come to show
Beware of the Anti-Christ who denies
the truth of God in Christ to you
as children come to overcome him
Christ in you greater than your foe
The world listens to the spirit of error
so they speak from the world's effect
being foolish and darkened in their mind
what nonsense uttered clearly imperfect
Coming from God shows others to Him
but those that know not God don't listen
this is how we know truth from error
for all that's gold doesn't always glisten
("Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.")
1 John 4: 1-6 (ESV)
(The reason I chose to write on this passage is that in today's mixed up religious world, it's so important to know truth from error for so many seem to not know what a true Christian is. For in our final day it'll be too late to change our mind for we must be sure we know and believe the biblical truth of God in His word.
