Knight In Shining Armor
Knight in Shining Armor
He was her knight in shining armor
his metal gleaming in the sun
Astride the black muscled steed
With silver harness and mane nicely done.
Her knight’s carriage erect and tall
As He prepared for the jousting event
Her heart unsteady and strained
Should he fail her soul would lament.
His steed pranced and tossed his head
Almost to say, “I am here if you dare”
As the knight squared off with his opponent
To joust for his maiden fair.
The maiden knew sudden terror
It showed in her crystal blue eyes
The eyes the knight dreamed about
Each night through slumbering sighs
His black steed rose on two feet
As the signal was given to go
And charged with all his might
Against the knight’s opposing foe.
They crashed with furious force
In the dust one was seen to go down
She could not tell who it was
That would be wearing the crown.
Finally the wait was all over
The losing knight to be a farmer
She held her breath as they escorted in
Her knight in shining armor.
