Kiss the Dawn For Me
Upon awakening and arising to each new day;
a day most beautiful and filled with grace;
a day for which I am deeply grateful. I am
then consumed with the thought of dawn.
KISS THE DAWN FOR ME.
I am ever mindful of her morning touches;
of God's gift of her to a mere human like me;
of her rise and shine whispers of love; and of her
mesmerizing influence upon this mortal me.
KISS THE DAWN FOR ME.
When she embraces me in the early mornings,
I am enraptured with the feeling of exhilaration
that is forever arresting. I am also captured
in her warm arms of delight and might.
KISS THE DAWN FOR ME.
He who made me also made the dawn, and I never
cease to be grateful for each day's dawning.
When she breaks forth from the depths of night
and steps boldly to welcome the morning light,
KISS THE DAWN FOR ME.
At my demise when I depart this once-garden
of paradise and ascend to the everlasting portals
of heaven, I would take the dawn with me if I could
and keep her near me always as my inspiration.
KISS THE DAWN FOR ME.
I realize that where I am going, she must be plentiful,
where there is neither night nor goodbyes. And I suppose
it is 'forever dawning' there; but on the other hand, since there
is no breaking of the night, maybe she has no need there. Anyway,
KISS THE DAWN FOR ME.
